Event Systems & Live Communication

I develop visual systems for events that make complex content understandable and function consistently across all touchpoints.

This involves not only the design of individual assets, but also the development of a clear visual logic that can be applied to space, stage, screens, and communication. Especially in large-scale events with diverse target groups and requirements, this creates a cohesive overall picture that provides orientation and ensures brand recognition.

My work encompasses the entire visual framework of an event – from the key visual to stage and screen design, as well as motion, social assets and accompanying communication materials.

Space Congress

Future vision visually translated

Visual conception and implementation of a large-scale industrial congress at the ICC Berlin with multiple stages, different formats and high media visibility.

The challenge was to develop a consistent visual system across a wide range of applications – from large-format stage surfaces to print and digital media.

The design of a curved stage approximately 20 meters long with large-scale digital projection was particularly complex. Analog and digital surfaces had to blend seamlessly, despite being subject to different technical conditions.

At the same time, the design had to reflect the character of the venue (ICC Berlin), fit into the context of the BDI, and yet develop its own distinct visual language.

  • Development of a clear key visual as a unifying element across all formats.
  • Early consideration of all applications (stage, screens, print, space)
  • Reduction of complex content to a concise visual logic
  • Adapting the design to architectural features and sightlines
  • consistent design system for analog and digital surfaces
  • Matching color effects in different color spaces (print vs. screen)
  • Flexible application to various stages, formats and media
  • Expandability for different program items (including sub-events such as "Kids Talk")
  • Key visual and overall design
  • Stage and screen design (including curved main stage)
  • Motion and screen assets
  • Event materials (banners, flags, foils, signage)
  • Visual design of additional formats (e.g. Kids Talk)
  • Video overlay for 360° camera
  • Coordination with production and logistics on site
  • visual coordination between printed stage and digital screen despite different color spaces
  • Consideration of light, shadows, and perspective effects in the room
  • Integration of a fashion show on stage (adaptation of stage logic and wayfinding)
  • Design for different target groups – from specialist audiences to children's formats
  • Implementation under tight time and production constraints

German Industry Day TDI'23

Visual staging of economic power

Visual design for a major industrial event with a complex, thematically broad program and hybrid delivery. The focus was on translating this density of content into a clear visual structure and creating orientation across different formats. To achieve this, I developed a consistent design system that reduces complex content, works on stage, screens, and streaming, and adapts flexibly to different program elements.

Climate Congress

Complexity clearly communicated

Visual design for a thematically demanding congress exploring the tension between sustainability and transformation. The goal was to translate challenging and sometimes alarming content in a way that conveyed its urgency without resorting to a "disaster aesthetic." Instead, a clear, minimalist, and future-oriented visual language emerged, providing orientation while maintaining emotional resonance. In addition, I developed a flexible design system and produced an introductory film that visually reinforces the event's tone.

Innovation Festival

Innovation visually presented

Visual design of an event format with a deliberate festival character and a strong focus on experience. The goal was to liberate innovation topics from the traditional conference context and create an open, playful atmosphere. To achieve this, I developed a flexible design system that makes various thematic "areas" tangible, such as independent stages, and can be applied across space, communication, and interactive formats – from branded game formats to diverse spatial concepts.
